Bill, What kind of broadcast is occurring. The AS/400 trace only shows comm data at the highest levels of the transport. I would recommend an analysis using a sniffer, such as SnifferPro. This will show all protocols and layers of your communications. I have seen problems with HP Jet Direct devices, WINS machines, master browsing between workstations, and a host of other issues in networks. I have also found a lot of very inefficient Client/Server code out there. If you ever have the opportunity to examine the way traffic flows in your network at an application level, you may be suprised.
