>> ibm, for the most part seems to have lost that concept. no one wants a magic box, they want a computer that works! Au contraire - the whole MS philosophy (and one that has made them millions) is to sell people on the magic box notion. The fact that the damn things constantly crash doesn't seem to worry anyone except those of us who know that it is possible to have a system that doesn't crash with monotonous regularity. I think part of the problem is that IBM's execs (if they care about anything but the next three months) buy into the same idea. "Bill Gates has made a fortune selling blue sky and promises - perhaps we can convince them to buy magic boxes!" +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
