Only way I have heard of doing it for AS/400 Query is writing parms to a data base table and then joining to table in query to get values but have never done. Everything for here on is my opinion and are not part of the answer to your question. If possible, use Query Manager (SQL Development kit from IBM or ProData SQL/4Less or just get from Midrange the command to run SQL statements without purchasing anything. Don't remember from name. There was a message about this a few days ago). IBM SQL Development kit or SQL/4Less is the best. Can pass any number of parms to the query. Avoid using Query/400 if you can. All development stopped years ago and will never resume. SQL is the present and the future. Absolutely critical skill set in this day and age. -----Original Message----- From: Forwiw@aol.com [mailto:Forwiw@aol.com] Sent: Saturday, November 20, 1999 4:56 PM To: midrange-l@midrange.com Subject: AS400 Query - Passing info from CL program? Anyone, Is there a way to pass info from a CL program to a Query? We would like to run a scheduled Query (at night), with info passed from a CL program (date range) into the Query, record select, so that there is no operator intervention. New at AS400, & CL. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
