You have probably ignored several sysopr-msg's warning you See the QSTGLOWLMT/ACN system values for preventive actions. Btw i've met a system stopped with 99.9998% That's right, 99.9998% . A s/38, but I managed to get a print of WRKSYSSTS even at that handicap'ed machine. The print rested on the IT managers bill board for years after that. Most commands did not work, but I managed to find that a job has loaded lots of data into QTEMP, and though it was at night (delayed from another job) alone with a customers machine there were no possibility but to end the job. That solved the situation as QTEMP was removed. What is m/c status? If it's not the control panel, then one command at least must work. Start deleting whatever you can (probably not DLTLIB LIB(*ALL)). QSYS/QHST* QUSRSYS MSGQ's that are not needed etc. As soon as you have room for it, a RCLSPLSTG - it reclaims storage without any loss (so does RGZPFM normally, but they need much more room to run). But again: You should never meet that situation. Dato: 4. november 1999 11:47 Hi folks, Last day I faced a strange situation. During month end processing the AS400 suddenly stopped responding. No commands would work. On further investigation the m/c status showed that, it was running on 98% ASP utilisation. Ultimately an IPL had to be done because nothing worked. After the IPL we could delete and clean up space. Has anybody faced such a problem? In such situations what needs to be done for a clean up without an IPL? Vijosh A Systems & Software SEEPZ, Bombay, INDIA.
