Well, other than the usual copy to data base file stuff, it is pretty simple. News400 had an article about two years ago with code showing how to do it in detail. High level is: Copy the spool file to a flat file. By some means or other (whatever you find convenient) add HTML tags to the flat file. Copy the flat file to a text file with a HTM extension. Another approach is to copy to flat file and use Net.Data to extract the stuff from the flat file. Client Access file transfer also offers you a transfer to HTML option that sometimes works. Bear in mind that there could be some formatting involved depending on what your cosmetic requirements are. We are displaying a few reports using the code from News400 and it works very simply for displaying an analogue of the printed report. We're doing it daily in batch. If you want more exciting fonts etc. there could be more work. There are also utilities you can buy that do this sort of thing. I'm pretty sure at least one list member has one available. > -----Original Message----- > From: Allen, Stuart [mailto:sallen@fellowes.com] > Sent: Wednesday, November 03, 1999 8:42 AM > To: 'Midrange' > Subject: Spool files to HTML? > > > I'm sure i've read somewhere recently (whether Midrange or > not i'm not sure) > that its quite easy to transfer an AS400 spool file to a web > document that > can be published on our intranet.
