I think I agree, even though this sort of thing is what keeps my interest alive. I couldn't imagine doing this if I didn't have new things to learn even if it makes me feel like a fois gras goose sometimes. A friend of mine is a consultant who splits his time (60/60) between my employer and another company. He sees scores of AS/400 programmers regularly. When I showed him the radio button demo he was really excited, but then he said "You know, there's a lot of people who couldn't care less about this stuff." He then proceeded to tell me about people he worked with at his other client who had no interest in RPGIV or anything after v2r1 or so. Seems weird to me, but I guess not everyone who programs for a living is interested in programming per se. -----Original Message----- From: boothm@earth.goddard.edu [mailto:boothm@earth.goddard.edu] Sent: Tuesday, November 02, 1999 11:26 AM To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com Subject: Re: ok, I made a green screen with radio buttons Pat, I'm not convinced it makes much difference though. I did the application and David posted it ( http://www.midrange.com/booth ). There's been interest, but only a dozen or so as near as I can tell. A couple of people that I've showed it to just sort of shrugged; it was a real ho-hum for them. I'm not sure what that means but I'm thinking that there's not much interest in new features in plain old RPG, RPGIV, and DDS. Or it might mean that RPG people don't really know what radio buttons are? who knows... +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
