I'm not sure I understand exactly what you are asking.  How are you
communicating with the other AS400s if they are not networked?  Are you
dialing them?
You can do the SNA over IP (Anynet) route, but unless you have a compelling
reason to do so, I'm not sure I would.  Native IP or SNA would be a much
better performer.  If you go to all IP, you could use FTP to replace SNADS
for bulk file transfers and DDM now support TCP/IP directly (no anynet), you
can specify SNA or IP when you create the DDM file.
If you are dialing the remote AS400s you can do a dial up PPP connection.
Still runs over a V24 comm port, I like to use US Robotic modems, but most
any PC ASCII modem will work.
