Most times we don't. To be very honest I don't think the AS/400 is that much more expensive than NT in a lot of scenarios. In certain situations it most definitely is but in others it is comparable. But back to your subject, if the thing can't run, won't run, has trouble running, is tougher to support, all the money savings go down the tube in heartbeat. But you and I both know that there are a lot of people that cannot look beyond the acquisition cost factor. While I believe this to be nothing but short- sighted, at some companies they are considered heros. If I interviewed at a company and heard this kind of talk I would not be back in the future...... Did any others read the most recent Monday Morning update from Midrange Computing? The following quote from the "fellow AS/400 militant" was very surprising to me. Does your company feel the same way? Ours doesn't. We take reliability over price tag (within reason).
