Oh, my yes.

I use the OpNav database stuff, on V4R2 and up AS/400's with the Express
Client only.

Pro: don't have to remember the syntax for creating EVI's, etc.
Pro: can save scripts to execute on more than one AS/400.
Pro: can populate data and edit data quickly without changing contexts.
Con: slower than green screen.
Con: no CISC machines.
Con: not the same interface as DB2 UDB Version 6.1, V5.2 or V5.

The biggest difference is not using DDS. But if you have to work in multiple
database environments like I do, then that is not a problem, it is a
benefit.
