There is an AS/400 product SystemView/SystemManager - 5769SM1.
Part of it is a set of APIs, which you can use to package your application as an
AS/400 product - pretty much the same as all IBM products.
This includes support:
- to create licensed product, and then use SAVLICPGM/RSTLICPGM
- to create PTFs for your product, and then use APYPTF/RMVPTF etc.
- to protect your product with different licensing features - key-based, non-key
based etc, and after that you can request/release licenses for your product,
pretty much the same as ClientAccess does it.

Licensing support can use system serial number as a basis for software key.

Subject: Software licensing?

Here is a good question:
We want our product to be able to install a license onto the AS/400 which it
can always check to see if it has expired, etc. The part of the product that
will actually check the license will be running on a client PC from VB. We
want to the make the license keys serial number specific and date specific.
Are there any licensing services on the AS/400 that we can use, or do we
need to just create our own files in QGPL or some other library to store our
information? We want to make it tamper proof of course... although, I guess
there is no way to stop someone from changing the date on their development
server. Any ideas or pointers greatly appreciated!
