Chuck, our account tries to avoid keying the PF. We have several systems in
lightning prone areas and poor power supplied systems and if the system goes
down while updating a PF in a batch, one can get duplicate records in the
file that are not easy to remove with upddta. We usually have to download a
fix program since getting at these duplicates can be difficult to do. We
know that it is not supposed to happen since the PF is keyed, but it does.

I have heard from one of our vendors that system performance begins to
degrade around having nine logicals over a physical, but that may have been
propaganda to overlook other flaws in their system.
