How do I work out the paramaters for RUNRMTCMD (Embedded image moved Rob Berendt <email@example.com> to file: 05/10/99 20:03 pic31696.pcx) Please respond to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com cc: (bcc: Nick Runnalls/BCTL/BurmahCastrol) Subject: Re: STRPCO Been awhile since I've used STRPCO. I use RUNRMTCMD most of the time now. With RUNRMTCMD the command does not have to be initiated from the PC that you want to run on. In our case we poll a shop floor PC for info. With RUNRMTCMD I don't have to tell the shop floor person to press a button. STRPCO might be nice if you are going to run it from an interactive session and you don't know which PC. Then I stumbled onto the STRPCO command which can be used in conjunction with STRPCCMD. It works like a charm and doesn't involve as many steps as the CWBRXD stuff. IBM tells me STRPCO is old stuff and no one uses it anymore since CWBRXD and RUNRMTCMD. I just wanted to ask you learned folks why that would be, and are there any drawbacks to using STRPCO?
