Harry, I am not sure about monitoring the wrkqry/runqry commands, but another option is to change the runqry command so that it can only be used in batch jobs. This will cut out the interactive use of query which is a potential resource-hogger. The MODE parameter on chgcmd specifies in which environments the command can be run. The recommended approach for doing this is to duplicate the ibm command from qsys into your own "system" library which should sit above qsys in the system library list, and change the duplicated command, not the ibm original. hth Nigel "Harry D.
