     We use OptiConnect. Basically, just think of it as FDDI (similar to a 
     fiber backbone on a LAN). If memory serves, it implements primary and 
     secondary chanels. For OS400, you'll have DDM and SNADS comm objects 
     set up to use FDDIMODD for the communications mode. 
     
     I think we had to drop FDDI on our development box when we went to the 
     170, as opticonnect was not available.

I have a client who is considering connecting 2 AS400s using Opticonnect. 
How does this look to the AS400, is all the DASD considered a single ASP or 
do the 2 system look like like they would if they were connected using a 
LAN, stil using SNADS and DDM to move data between the boxes?
