  • Subject: Domino Server Question

I am working on a proposal to upgrade our production AS/400 Model 500 to
an AS/400 Model 720-2061, with 384 meg of main memory and 50+ gig of
usable disk capacity. With Model 500 I have 40 gig of disk with an average
usage of 55%, the CPU percentage used on a daily 8 hour shift is 36%. The
model 500 has 128 meg of memory. Doing a WRKACTJOB during the day, it will
show around 230-240 active jobs.

We are planning on installing Lotus Notes and Domino on the production
box. At first we will just be using it for the intranet, testing out the
e-mail side of it and develop lotus application for departmental use as
demos for the rest of the company. Eventually we are planning on running a
corporate web site in house using the Domino server.

I would like to hear pros and cons on running Domino servers on the
production box.

TIA
