RE: Cisco 2500 to a 9406-170

Is the clocking setting a parm in the router?  In other words, is it possible 
it's not turned on?

No need for a null modem because the router can provide clocking (although you
CAN use one if you want too)  If the correct cable was ordered for the router
then the crossover happens there.  AS/400's come with one cable type only that
expects to be connected to a DCE type device.  Routers can connect to DCE or DTE
devices and that is determined by the cable.  (That is the router can go both
ways)
