Roger,

Yes, you have a command key (F10 I think) available to you when running
STRDBG that will STEP through statements. I tend not to use it too much,
unless I'm really lost - no snide comments required :-) - since I generally
have a reasonable idea where the problems are at and I like to set
breakpoints in the particular area. I see some people who seem to STEP
through almost their whole program and it can take a LONG while to get to
where you need to be. STEP does work well though.

I am not yet using RPGIV but I was just wondering if you can "STEP" through
a program using STRDBG like you can with STRISDB? I haven't used STRDBG
since I found out about STRISDB... but when I go to RPGIV will I be taking a
"step" backwards?

STRDBG is the command and it works pretty nicely.

Hi,

I have begun using RPG IV (not binding yet) and may need to debug a program
(not that I have a bug in my code). I am familiar with STRISDB for RPG III
and know there is an ILE debugger but, how do I get to it? (command?)
Furthermore, is there only 1 debugging utility available for RPG IV code and
what is the best source for information on it?

TIA
