I can help by user at signon or by "Named Device".  Try using named devices
on the clients instead of qpadevxxxx.  Say 10.10.10.128 = TN10.128.a where
all TN10's and in subsystem A.  Use a generic name in the device entry as
TN10*.  This could me a management nightmare, especially if you use dhcp to
assign IP's.
