Don, VB is a great ,I cant see Java killing it.Also Java is hard to learn aboubt as bad as C++. Any of the AS400 people on this list could start on VB and make some useful Client Server apps in weeks just by buying a good book or two ,looking up some tips from News/400 back issues etc etc. Dave ---------- > From: Schenck, Don <Don.Schenck@WL.com> > To: 'MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com' > Subject: RE: Code400 list how about new Client Server list? > Date: Friday, 17 September 1999 04:57 > > Forget VB or VARPG (and this advice is coming from a VB programmer!): learn > Java. > > Otherwise, you'll be flipping burgers for a living <grin>. > > Seriously -- Java. > > -- Don Schenck > www.schencktech.com > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Chris Bipes [mailto:ChrisB@cross-check.com] > Sent: Thursday, September 16, 1999 10:37 AM > To: 'MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com' > Subject: RE: Code400 list how about new Client Server list? > > > I would sign up today, but as an interested listener.
