Bill, Are their any PC's connected to your AS/400? ANy other internal systems connected to your AS/400? What are those systems connected to? Who can reach them from the outside??? I'm not contradicting your assertion that you've never been hacked. Statistically, the odds are in your favor. But don't be too sure that your AS/400 is not connected to the outside. A network is, by definition, a chain of computers and therefore is only as strong as it's weakest link. An experienced hacker would likely attack an unsecured PC on the network first, and use it as a jumping off point for further adventures. jte -- John Earl johnearl@powertechgroup.com The PowerTech Group 206-575-0711 PowerLock Network Security www.400security.com The 400 School www.400school.com -- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
