That's the reason I asked the question Roger: A lot of small companies will gag at paying $6200 for the honor of getting the next release...(V3r2 --> V4r3 P20 processor group for one year) This seems to be an excellent way for IBM to: 1. Raise large sums of money 2. Leave a LOT of customers at a much older release 3. Possibly prevent existing customers from going to new generation... It's a great marketing idea.....but what about all the smaller accounts of AS/400's(80% of installed base) that don't need or want the latest bleeding edge release... Does everybody want Java and E-commerce ???? So I respond to your question with a question: Why would they want the software subscription ??? +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
