Jon,

You mention that it fixed most of your problems. I have been using Code on
V4R3 and V4R4 with the latest PTFs. I am also on the latest version of code
with the latest service pack. I have yet to be able to open a file without
using
STRCODE. This is on NT and W98. Does this work for you? The
non-STRCODE connection seems to be used for compiles, etc. by default.
For this it is working fine. When I go to use the non-STRCODE connection for
a download, it hangs up and I have to kill the associated server job on the
400.
Fortunately, the old STRCODE connection works just fine.

I recently had problems with Code PTFs and found out that the latest PTF for
Code at V3R2 is SF57661. Note that this is to make the product work correctly
when Service pack 2 is applied to the V3R2M2 version of Code.

My system is at V4R2 so it is not exactly the same as yours but this PTF seems
to have fixed most of my comms problems.
