While it is possible to write User defined dat streams, it is best suited for
those who enjoy spending their spare moments lying on broken glass and barbed
wire.

I would suggest that you use the Dynamic Screen Manager APIs instead which
(since you seem to be familiar with VT programming) be much simpler for you to
use. The manual that describes them is on the soft-copy CD ROM.
