I've also noticed that the IBM site that has the manuals online no longer has many popular manuals under V4R4. If you click on the manual you get a worthless one page PDF presentation. Then I go back to the V4R3 online manuals and they are there. Time for everyone to flood the webmaster? Check out: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/pubs/html/as400/online/homeeng1.htm Look under the shelf Integrated Database and File System. Look at SQL Programming The online V4R4 is worthless. I tried it. Went to the assigned URL. Try to search on SELECT. This is what I sent when I clicked on feedback: To: rchclerk@us.ibm.com Subject: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/pubs/html/as400/online/homeeng1.htm I tried the 'new' method of infocenter. I was looking up a SQL technique. So I went to the web site http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/pubs/html/as400/online/homeeng1.htm and selected the V4R4 version of SQL programming. Much to my surprise I got a one page PDF file instead of the familiar online version of the book. I clicked on the URL in this page. I tried to use the new format. I did a search on SELECT. I received no hits regarding the SELECT statement in SQL. In fact none of the entries were remotely related to SQL. Please abandon this and provide a solution instead. If you can't come up with anything better, then go back to the old format. I ended up going back to the V4R3 site to get useful information. Don-- Check this out http://www.as400.ibm.com/developer/performance/v4upgrade.html it lists the PTFs needed down to V4R1 and provides a smattering of documentation. IBM just doesn't get it with the docs. Have you noticed that the V4R4 softcopy library doesn't even include the SQL manuals now! Gotta go somewhere else now. Geeze. Note to IBM: you can keep track of this stuff with a computer--get one! rp ----- Original Message ----- From: Don <dr2@cssas400.com> To: <midrange-l@midrange.com> Sent: Sunday, 08 August, 1999 4:57 PM Subject: DSKBAL... > > Is it my blindness and fat fingers or is this command just not documented > anywhere worth a damn?
