This can be done using a socket program to first establish connection with
the http server (www.xyzcompany.com) at port # 80 (generally that is the
port http servers use) . Then send the GET http request
(GET http://www.xyz.com/index.html) to retrive the web page . I have a
RPGLE program which does exactly that .

Subject: AS/400 program to retrieve a URL?

Folks:

Does anyone know of a AS/400 program that will retrieve a web page from a
web server based on the URL?

Thanks!
