Nice try, Hans, but the error related to the multi-member file does not involve a parameter problem. The only parameter passed to the program is one character in length and the calling program uses the same definition. The program also does not used IMPORT/EXPORT. We placed the program in debug mode and used the step function. Immediately after the "WRITE" operation to the multi-member file, a "DELETE" operation is done on the file used for input (defined as UF) and then a "READ" to get the next record. It was on one of these operations the program crashed. I think it was on the "READ". Donald R. Fisher, III Project Manager Heilig-Meyers Furniture Company (804) 784-7500 ext. 2124 Don.Fisher@HeiligMeyers.com We sometimes get reports of "mysterious" MCH3601 errors. They are almost always caused by mismatched parameters between called programs or by mismatched IMPORT/EXPORT. We have yet to see a "mysterious" MCH3601 situation caused by a defect in the ILE RPG compiler or run-time. Cheers! Hans Hans Boldt, ILE RPG Development, IBM Toronto Lab, boldt@ca.ibm.com <clip> >There are a couple of other examples where the program is QRNXIO that looked >like they were related the use of a multi-member file. The example above, >however, does not involve a multi-member file. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
