We have been having lots of problems with NetSoft router sessions since going to V4R3. Ours is different in that the printer sessions drop connections and when you try to start back you get the message that it can't start the virtual device is in use. The only way to get them back was to find the QPASVRS job that they were using and end it. Of course everyone else assigned to that job loses their printer session at that point. Sometimes we also have to delete the devd for the printer and the APPC session. -----Original Message----- From: Turner, Deb [mailto:turnerd@bluffton.edu] Sent: Thursday, July 15, 1999 8:13 AM To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com Subject: nestoft printing Since moving to a new 170 (V4R3) from a F20 and upgrading our Netsoft to 3.12 we are having a difficult time trying to print. Netsoft support has essentially given up after lots of trial and error. We have tried several settings on the "new" netsoft. (Everything worked fine before). The problem is... after reaching the best possible combination of settings ( HP4si printer, paper size use local, paper orientation use host, printer setup uses host) it cuts the right side of the page off with a 15 cpi and with OV letters. After several tries a query with a length of > 132 it would print portrait and cut off the right side. Now the settings are at least to where Netsoft recognizes the fact that the paper needs to go landscape. The bad thing is that it does not utilize the entire page it prints in a tiny font on 3/4 of the page (not ideal but usable). Has anyone had this problem using netsoft? After working on this for a few months with netsoft I would greatly appreciate any ideas! I sure would hate to have to rewrite all these reports.
