  • Subject: Re: Operational Descriptor for Data Structure using CEEDOD

Dave,

Frustrating isn't it. I usually do something like:

dStructure s like(StructureDS)
dpStructure s * inz(%addr(Structure))
dStructureDS ds based(pStructure)

I then pass Structure. I have been told that this is a
non-compiler issue. I wish someone could make this work. If
this is a Rochester issue they ought to just fix it. In the mean
time, it is so simple to code around I would think someone who
writes compilers could put in a universal under the covers
work around.

Folks:

When I pass a string to CEEDOD it correctly describes the parameter.
When I pass a character data structure it says "Missing operational
descriptor" . Of course, I can copy the data structure into a string
and pass it as a parameter (which works), but I am curious, how do
others handle data structures with options(*varsize) with opdesc in the
prototype?

Thank You.
