Please clarify your reference to a host table entry. Is this "adding a
distribution queue" or something else entirely. I have set up other HP 4000
printers on my AS/400 by creating a device description using:
CRTDEVPRT DEVD(PRTGVLENG) DEVCLS(*LAN) TYPE(3812) MODEL(1) +
         LANATTACH(*IP) PORT(9100) ATTACH(*DIRECT) ONLINE(*YES) +
         FONT(11 *NONE) FORMFEED(*AUTOCUT) SEPDRAWER(*FILE) +
         PRTERRMSG(*INQ) MSGQ(*LIBL/QSYSOPR) ACTTMR(170) +
         INACTTMR(*SEC15) LINESPEED(19200) WORDLEN(8) +
         PARITY(*NONE) STOPBITS(1) TRANSFORM(*YES) MFRTYPMDL(*HP4) +
         PPRSRC1(*LETTER) PPRSRC2(*LETTER) ENVELOPE(*NUMBER10) +
         ASCII899(*NO) IMGCFG(*NONE) CHRID(*SYSVAL) +
         RMTLOCNAME('10.20.1.40') SYSDRVPGM(*HPPJLDRV) +
         TEXT('Greenville TCP/IP printer-Engineering Dept.')
and these printers work just fine. I would like to be allow them to start
automatically without having to answer printer messages.
This is the only printer that our LAN personnel had setup by giving it a name
instead of specifying just the TCP/IP address.

With a remote writer, will the remote writer show up on the WRKWTR display with
our other printers and will it start automatically
after an IPL?
