Dennis I had that same proposal thrown out for general discussion in a management meeting several years ago. An additional item to consider is the pride of the employees. We had several people who were certain that their pay was greater than their counterparts (they convinced themselves). Posting all the salaries would have shown the truth, their salaries were less! They were operators, comparing their salary to programmers, I don't believe favoritism was an issue.
