  • Subject: Ethernet & Token ring w/CA

Hi,
We are currently using Client Access over Token Ring (ip address
xxx.xxx.25.5) , but are planning to migrate to ethernet.
We have installed an ethernet card in the 400, set this up as xxx.xxx.26.5,
and connected this to the ethernet (26) segment of the network.
This can also be pinged / telnetted to from the token ring (25) side.

I have tried to set up a CA connection to xxx.xxx.26.5, but as soon as i
enter the system name, it automatically pulls in the 25.5 address from the
HOSTS file on the PC.
Can i set up the ethernet segment to have a different system name to the
token ring?
Or is there any other way around it? I'd like to be able to play around
with an ethernet-connected setup before we migrate, and don't want to keep
deleting the HOSTS file every time i want to flip!

Any ideas?

Stuart
