We could see them (invalid logins etc.) but
I had no easy way to determine which address theyI were coming in on....is there
any easy way to log TCP usage by IP adress? I'm interested in logging TCP
application and the address used.....

Use this API in every profile program, as you can see the IP address is located
in the &RECV. I use this to check the address, and if I don't like it, I sign
them out. You could Callb an RPGLE to write it to a file.

  CALL PGM(QDCRDEVD) PARM(&RECV &BIN &FMT &JOB &ERR)
 CHGVAR VAR(&IPADDR) VALUE(%SST(&RECV 878 15))
