it's amazing, huh!  we used to pay our programmers a premium for
billable time, and less for 'office' time, which was non billabe.  

when the 400 came out, we got the discover learning series.  one of our
programmers had a big client that went from the 36 to the as/400 and he
actually told the client that he wouldn't go thru the discover classes
unless we could bill them (the client) for it so he could get paid
'billable' rates.  or he just wanted us to pay him the billable rate. 
here we are paying him to learn, and that wasn't good enough. i was
really horrified when the client told me he'd asked for that.
