Vivian,

Are you connecting to the secure IP or multiprotocol network??? If you
are dialing into their network with PPP then you are just like any other
IP client talking to an IP host. The /400 shouldn't need to do any Slip
or PPP.

In my past life we used IGN for our dial-in access to our network (which
had the /400). IGN (now AGN for AT&T) needs to authorize the IP address
you need to get to.

Hope this helps. If you have further questions or want more detail, you
can call me at the number below.

Regards,
John

Subject: PPP/SLIP into the IBM Global Network.

Has anyone configured PPP or SLIP to add a connection from
an AS/400 into the IBM Global Network (or similar)? We need to
access a remote AS/400 via the IGN via PPP/SLIP. We have managed
to get the connection in but are having a few problems with the route.
As the AS/400 is connected to a LAN, we have a *DFTROUTE configured,
but need the PPP/SLIP connection to add a *DFTROUTE itself. How can
we configure the current *DFTROUTE entry on the AS/400 to use network
routing, instead of the current default route. Any help appreciated.
