For those files you have to be in NAMEFMT 1.
ftp>quote site namefmt 1   <---enter this in FTP script

then your get/put would look like this:

get /qsys.lib/qs36f.lib/filename.file/mem.ber.mbr  file.txt

where filename is the as/400 file and mem.ber is the member in that file.

Subject:  FTP a S36 file with a period in name & rec fmt




We have another system trying to pull S36 files with a file name and record
format that has a period in the name.  However, the 400 interprets the
chars past the period as the member name not part of the file name.  I have
been looking into using LF, DDM, SQL View, SQL Index etc. without much
luck.  Is there a way (w/o creating a dup obj) to access these files
through FTP?
