Baba,

This approach should work in either language. In the program give the file a
default name, say DUMMY. In RPG you would need to define the file with user
controlled open. Before opening the file, call QCMDEXC with an OVRDBF command to
override DUMMY to the name supplied by the user. Depending on exactly what you
are intending to do you may also need to specify LVLCHK(*NO) on the OVRDBF
command.
