SNA/APPN allows more than one parallel links between systems. They are called
transmission groups.
You define new link in the same way as the first one, but in APPC controller
descriptions make sure that APPN transmission group numbers (TMSGRPNBR) are
different.
Links can have identical or different characteristics. You may direct different
traffic to use different links.
OS/400 APPN support guide has more information about it.

Subject: SNA

I currently have SNA working between 2 AS/400's via token-ring. There is a
controller
and a device name for the each AS/400 on each system. We now also have
ethernet cards
installed on the AS/400's. Is there a problem with running SNA between
token-ring and ethernet
at the same time? Is anyone currently doing this?

TIA,
