Eric:

I had a *VERY* bad experience with EMC drives on a F35->510 upgrade about
2 1/2 years ago.  EMC's support was absymal and we were down, COLD, for
a full week.

I *HIGHLY* recommend against EMC.

IBM came through for us in the clutch and provided priority 1 support 
(including having a VLIC programmer dialed in to our system) and got
us up (with almost half our normal disk capacity, as the EMC drives 
were identified at fault).

I'll be happy to give you the gorey details privately, if you wish... most
everyone here has heard my rants on EMC before.

p.s. I thought EMC got out of the Midrange dasd market.
