How about a batch job on the PC that performs the encrypt, and then runs an ftp script. The script sends the file, then does a quote/rcmd to force the process on the 400. This process can also provide notification on the 400 that the file was received. -----Original Message----- From: Bob Clark [mailto:bclark@ussafety.com] Sent: Tuesday, May 18, 1999 08:58 AM To: Midrange-L; IGNITE400 MEMBERS LIST Subject: Encrypting FTP transfers We are in the process of setting up a system for a large customer of ours. They want to be able to FTP a file to us every week. This file will contain sensitive information. The transfer will be from a PC directly to our AS/400. Does anybody have any ideas on how to encrypt this file in such a manner that the AS/400 can decrypt it with no user intervention? +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
