Recommended ISPs

A friend of mine just called.  She works for a small company and they
are looking at getting an ISP.  She is under the opinion that the "big
boys" may not be attentive to their needs and told her I would ask this
group if they had any recommendations.  Does anyone know of any good
ISPs in the Southern California area with high reliability and good
customer service (i.e. they will pay attention to the needs of even a
small company)?
