I'm not using a HP4000TN, but the only difference between my setup and yours is that I have my port number specified (9100) and I use a *PSFCFG configuration file. To print an IPDS SPLF, I defined an IPDS printer on a HP4000TN, with an IPDS I-data DIMM card included. The printer is *IP, a ping from AS to the printer's address is OK. ______________________________ On the AS, with CRTDEVPRT, I created the following DEVD: Device description . . . . . . . . : PRMTL0202 Option . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : *BASIC Category of device . . . . . . . . : *PRT Device class . . . . . . . . . . . : *LAN Device type . . . . . . . . . . . : *IPDS Device model . . . . . . . . . . . : 0 LAN attachment . . . . . . . . . . : *IP Advanced function printing . . . . : *YES Port number . . . . . . . . . . . : 0 Online at IPL . . . . . . . . . . : *YES Font: Identifier . . . . . . . . . . . : 011 Point size . . . . . . . . . . . : *NONE Form feed . . . . . . . . . . . . : *CONT Separator drawer . . . . . . . . . : *FILE Separator program . . . . . . . . : *NONE Printer error message . . . . . . : *INQ Message queue . . . . . . . . . . : QSYSOPR Library . . . . . . . . . . . . : *LIBL Activation timer . . . . . . . . . : 170 Image configuration . . . . . . . : *NONE Maximum pending requests . . . . . : 6 Print while converting . . . . . . : *YES Print request timer . . . . . . . : *NOMAX Form definition . . . . . . . . . : F1C10110 Library . . . . . . . . . . . . : *LIBL Character identifier . . . . . . . : *SYSVAL Remote location: Name or address . . . . . . . . : 199.202.202.43 User-defined object . . . . . . . : *NONE Object type . . . . . . . . . . : *NONE Data transform program . . . . . . : *NONE User-defined driver program . . . : *NONE Dependent location name . . . . . : *NONE Allocated to: Job name . . . . . . . . . . . . . : PRMTL0202 User . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : QSPLJOB Number . . . . . . . . . . . . . : 843671 Text . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : IPDS printer ______________________________ When starting the printer I get in QSYSOPR the following error: Message ID . . . . . . : PQT3625 Message type . . . . . : Information Date sent . . . . . . : 05/10/99 Message . . . . : Connection with device PRMTL0202 is being retried. I tried to scan more than 200 threads in the David's Archive List concerning IPDS printing, but I didn't find anything of help. Any idea ? Thanks, Andrei Centea Canadelle Inc - Sara Lee Corp.
