Then clean it up on the cisc box first, not during the conversion. Not following the road map is an invitation to disaster. If there really is "junk" on the old cisc box then deal with it there. Starting "fresh" is not just a great feeling in some environments but is a necessity for sanity. That is not the case with the AS/400. The AS/400 relies upon building on past achievement so discarding past achievement is not a winning strategy.
