Dennis,

We also use ADSM here on the /400 and I love it. Has a few downsides and MANY
upsides to doing it. We backup NT, Win/95, Linux, Solaris 2.6, Netware 4.11
and 3.12, and HP/UX.

Just don't back up an AS/400 using it. Native Save/Restore is much better.

NT recovery sucks on a brand new box but everything else is smooooth.

Call or email for more details if you would like.

John

Hi, fellow AS/400 fans:

With all the changes made to the AS/400 over the past few years, I'm curious
whether an AS/400 now can be used to back up other (non-AS/400) systems on
the network. For example, that could be done with all Unix variants (except
you can't backup your AS/400 that way). The tape drive on the AS/400 here
has a much higher capacity than the other systems, and I'd like to make use
of it. Creative minds welcomed. :^)

Thanks in advance.
