I don't think the USR Courier is a synchronous modem.  If you are doing SNA
between these 2 AS400s you need modems that support synchronous
communications.  If both machines are at V3R7 or higher, you could configure
either SLIP or PPP (V4 or higher) and do dial up TCP/IP between the 2
AS400s.  You would then use TELNET rather than DSPT.
