1) according to my experience, compression rate overall is single-digits
percents.
This is not due to bad compression per se, but there is not many objects
eligible for compression.
2) yes
3) do not know
4) quite a harmless command.

Best regards

Subject: Object Compression

Dear All!

Do you have any experience with the CPROBJ command? If yes, please
share it with us.

Particular questions:

1. How effective is this? What is the average compression rate?
2. Can I save/restore compressed object if my AS/400 are on different
OS release levels?
3. What will happen if the storage usage is above 90%? Will the
objects decompress without any warning?
4. What is the 'dark side' of this command?

Thanks,
Andras
