I checked out this URL. The book you referenced is for V4R2M0. And, yes, I was under the V4R3 books. Generally this means it was not updated. In section 5.6 it says "That is, you cannot create a DDM file on AS/400 that uses TCP/IP. " In section 3.1.3, it says "| If you have an IP network, there are similar functions available for some | of the DDM-related things that are discussed in this section. For example, | you can use FTP and the Run Remote Command (RUNRMTCMD) command." Well, we know that FTP and RUNRMTCMD and not the equalivelant of the record access in DDM. I supposed that you could use the WRKRDBDIRE method. However would all of your RPG now have to use SQL to access the files? The reason I am asking is this: To use WRKRDBDIRE entries don't you have to code the following?: C/EXEC SQL C+ connect to remote400 C/END-EXEC C/EXEC SQL C+ Select ..... C/END-EXEC How would traditional RPG access the WRKRDBDIRE entries? For DDM over APPC there is no coding change. pytel@us.ibm.com on 04/27/99 11:33:21 AM Please respond to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com@Internet To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com@Internet cc: Subject: Re: DDM over TCP/IP Sorry, you were asking for a weblink... Does anyone know of a web link that I could reference for that information? Preferably an IBM document. Thanks! david -- David Gibbs Sr. Software Engineer Mortice Kern Systems US, Inc. 2500 S.
