Debugging ILE programs

Is anyone having any trouble displaying expressions when debugging ILE
programs.  I am trying to find out the value of expressions such as
%eof(file name).  The manuals seem to say you can do this.  I have tried
this with the AS400 debugger and the debugger in Code400.  Any input would
greatly be appreciated.
