Did someone say there is a way to telnet to a reliable source for time, like the Naval Observatory, and get the correct time and then reset the AS/400's clock? I know how to do it with OS/2 or *nix, but hadn't given much thought to setting up an automated date setting routine to check the time every night on an AS/400. NISTIME is usually correct to the fraction of a second and that seems close enough to me. NIS also supplys an accuracy rating at the same time, so you can reject their time if the reliability is too low. -- ----------------------------------------------------------- boothm@ibm.net Booth Martin ----------------------------------------------------------- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
