Save option 21 runs a program in QSYS called QMNSAVE.  You can retrieve the
source and modify it if you which.  Caution  IBM could wipe out your
changes with a PTF, but this (any many) other CL programs are retrievable
by design,

Probably yes.  My suggestion is to dump the MAPICS save/restore procedures,
and  use SAVCHGOBJ *ALLUSR as your backup strategy.  The is a command
called SAVALLCHG with a corresponding RSTALLCHG command in TAA Tools.
