I have no idea how many corrections I've gotten on the maximum size of an unsigned long. Ten minutes after leaving work I realized I said that the maximum size was 2^32. Silly me. It has been for some time 2^32 - 1. It doesn't invalidate the rest of what I said about integers rolling over. FFFFFFFF + 1 = 00000000 with the leftmost digit falling off into the bit bucket. I guess I've been writing RPG long enough to forget that most of the rest of the world starts counting with 0. If I'm lucky, I posted the original to Midrange- L and not RPG400-L and this will get there before anyone notices. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
